The Science of Vedic Remediation
In the Vedic tradition, astrology is never merely diagnostic. Once a practitioner identifies challenging planetary placements or difficult transits, the natural next step is to prescribe remedies that can soften harsh influences and amplify beneficial ones. This course provides a thorough, systematic education in the four pillars of Jyotish remediation: gemstone therapy, mantra chanting, yantra activation, and planetary pacification rituals.
Unlike superficial treatments of the subject, our curriculum traces each remedial technique back to its classical source, whether that is Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Garuda Purana, or the Mantra Shastra texts. You will learn not only what to prescribe but also why a particular remedy works, when it is appropriate, and what contraindications to watch for. This depth of understanding separates a competent Jyotish consultant from someone who offers generic advice.
Throughout the programme, you will work with real charts, analysing planetary weaknesses and selecting the most suitable remedial approach for each unique situation. By the time you complete this course, you will possess the knowledge and confidence to offer ethical, effective remedial guidance to clients or to apply these techniques in your own life.
What You Will Learn
- Gemstone Therapy (Ratna Shastra): Understand the relationship between the nine planetary gemstones and their corresponding grahas. Learn how to assess gem quality, determine the correct weight and metal setting, identify the optimal muhurta for first wearing, and recognise situations where gemstone prescription is inappropriate or potentially harmful.
- Mantra Chanting (Mantra Vidya): Study the Vedic and Puranic mantras associated with each of the nine planets. Explore correct pronunciation, the significance of repetition counts, the role of sankalpa, and how to structure a personal mantra practice or recommend one for a client based on their birth chart.
- Yantra Activation: Discover the geometric and numerical principles behind planetary yantras. Learn the step-by-step process of energising a yantra, including purification, prana pratishtha, and ongoing maintenance rituals. Understand which yantras complement which chart configurations.
- Planetary Pacification (Graha Shanti): Explore the traditional homa and puja ceremonies designed to pacify afflicted planets. Study the materials, mantras, and sequences involved in Navagraha Shanti and individual planetary appeasement rituals, along with guidance on when to recommend professional priestly assistance.
- Charitable Remedies and Lifestyle Adjustments: Learn the classical system of daan (charity) associated with each planet, colour therapy, dietary recommendations, and behavioural modifications that support planetary balance without requiring elaborate rituals.

Who This Course Is For
This course is designed for students who have completed at least a foundational study of Vedic astrology and can read a birth chart with reasonable fluency. It is particularly valuable for:
- Practising Jyotish consultants who want to expand their service offerings with well-grounded remedial advice.
- Yoga teachers and Ayurvedic practitioners seeking to integrate astrological remediation into their holistic practice.
- Spiritual seekers who wish to apply Vedic remedies in their own sadhana for personal growth and planetary harmony.
- Students of the Natal Chart Reading or Predictive Astrology courses who want a natural continuation of their studies.
No prior experience with remedial practices is required, but familiarity with basic chart interpretation is essential to get the most from the curriculum.
