Predictive astrology transforms a static birth chart into a dynamic timeline of possibility. This ten-week intermediate course teaches you the three pillars of Vedic prediction: the Vimshottari Dasha system, planetary transits (Gochar), and the Varshaphal (annual horoscope) technique. Together, these methods allow you to identify when specific promises in the natal chart are most likely to manifest.
You will begin with a thorough exploration of Vimshottari Dasha, the most widely used planetary period system in Jyotish. You will learn how to calculate Mahadasha, Antardasha, and Pratyantardasha periods, interpret each planetary cycle in light of the natal chart, and recognise the signature events that accompany specific Dasha transitions. The course pays special attention to the Dasha of functional benefics versus malefics and how lordship and placement modify the results of each period.
The transit module covers the movement of slow-moving planets such as Saturn, Jupiter, and Rahu-Ketu through the houses of the natal chart. You will study Sade Sati, Jupiter returns, and the significance of eclipses in triggering natal promises. The final weeks introduce Varshaphal, the annual solar return chart used in Tajika astrology, teaching you to construct and interpret the chart that governs each year of life from one birthday to the next.
Course Structure
The programme runs for ten weeks and is designed for students who have completed a foundational course in natal chart reading or who already possess equivalent knowledge. Each week includes a two-hour recorded lecture, curated excerpts from classical texts, and a live interactive session with the instructor where real charts are analysed in real time.
- Weeks 1-3: Vimshottari Dasha calculation, interpretation of Mahadasha and Antardasha periods
- Weeks 4-5: Advanced Dasha analysis, Pratyantardasha, and Dasha Sandhi transitions
- Weeks 6-8: Planetary transits, Sade Sati, eclipse triggers, and Ashtakavarga transit scoring
- Weeks 9-10: Varshaphal construction, Tajika Yogas, Muntha, and annual forecast synthesis
Who This Course Is For
This course is designed for students who already have a solid understanding of the natal chart and wish to add timing techniques to their practice. It is particularly well suited for aspiring professional astrologers who need to answer the question clients ask most often: "When will this happen?" The course assumes familiarity with houses, signs, planetary dignities, and aspects, all of which are covered in our Natal Chart Reading programme.
Students from a Western astrological background are welcome, though they should be comfortable with sidereal calculations and the Whole Sign house system before enrolling.
