Our Story
Academy Jyotish was founded in 2014 in London by Dr Rajan Sharma, a Vedic astrologer with over three decades of practice in the Parashara tradition. What began as a series of intimate weekend workshops in Marylebone has grown into a globally recognised institution serving students across more than 45 countries.
Dr Sharma established the academy with a singular conviction: that the ancient science of Jyotish deserves to be taught with the same rigour and structure as any modern discipline. From the outset, every programme has been built on a foundation of classical texts, mentored practice and real-world chart analysis.
Today, Jyotish Vidya Academy Ltd. (Company No. 14523891) operates from 71 Gloucester Place in central London, offering both in-person intensives and flexible online programmes that make this profound knowledge accessible to students everywhere.

Dr Rajan Sharma

With over 30 years of practice rooted in the Parashara tradition, Dr Sharma has authored four books on Jyotish and lectured at universities across India, the UK and the United States. He founded Academy Jyotish in 2014 to bring structured, mentored Vedic astrology education to a global audience.
Elena Whitfield
Senior Instructor
A former astrophysicist turned Vedic astrologer, Elena bridges scientific rigour with classical wisdom. She specialises in predictive techniques and compatibility analysis, and her research into planetary transit cycles has been published in several peer-reviewed Jyotish journals.
Accreditation & Recognition
Our programmes are endorsed by the International Council for Vedic Astrology Studies (ICVAS). Graduates are listed in the ICVAS practitioner directory and may use the post-nominal letters CVA (Certified Vedic Astrologer) upon completing the advanced tier.
